Crystal glass photo block with a family photo on a wooden table

Personalised Christmas Gifts That Play a Video Message

Every family has a Christmas morning moment that gets talked about for years. The year Grandad wore the reindeer jumper without being asked. The toddler more excited about the box than the present. The whole room singing badly over the pudding.

A photo keeps how those moments looked. A video keeps how they sounded. This Christmas you can give both in one present.

How a video gift works

You choose a keepsake, then upload your favourite photo and a short video on the product page. We print the photo and email you a QR code. They scan it to get the free Moving Memories app, point their phone at the photo, and your video plays over it, right there on the shelf. Nothing is printed on the gift except your photo and any words you add, so it looks like a beautiful photo until they press play.

New to it? Our guide to how living photos work explains it step by step.

Which keepsake for who

  • For grandparents: a large crystal glass block (£54) with the grandchildren's photo and a video of them shouting Merry Christmas. It's our biggest photo, so the video plays bigger too.
  • For Mum or Dad: an acrylic photo plaque (£33) with a family photo and a short line such as "Merry Christmas from us all".
  • For the wall: a photo canvas from £39, for the photo everyone wants to see every day.
  • For a stocking: an acrylic photo key ring (£12) with a name on it. Small enough for a stocking, with a video that goes everywhere their keys do.

What to film

The best Christmas videos are short and real. Twenty to thirty seconds is plenty, and you can go up to 45. A few ideas:

  • The children reading out their own Christmas message, mistakes and all
  • Last year's Christmas morning, if you caught it on your phone
  • A message from someone who can't be there this year
  • The family dog in a festive hat, briefly tolerating it

Our tips on recording a 30 second video will help it come out well on any phone.

Give yourself time before Christmas

Every keepsake is made to order in the UK and usually dispatched within 3 to 5 working days of your photo and video being approved, with free UK delivery. December is busy for everyone, so order early. If you've left it late, a TimeFrame gift card is emailed straight after checkout, so they can choose their own photo and video in the new year.

The presents that get kept aren't the ones that cost the most. They're the ones that hold a moment. See all our keepsakes.
